A genome-wide association study for the fatty acid composition of breast meat in an F2 crossbred chicken population

چکیده

The composition of fatty acids determines the flavor and quality meat. Flavor compounds are generated during cooking process by decomposition volatile via lipid oxidation. A number research on candidate genes related to acid content in livestock species have been published. majority these studies focused pigs cattle; association between meat chickens has rarely reported. Therefore, this study investigated associated with chickens. genome-wide (GWAS) was performed 767 individuals from an F2 crossbred population Yeonsan Ogye White Leghorn Illumina chicken 60K significant single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotype data 30 (%) breast animals slaughtered at 10 weeks age were analyzed. SNPs shown be 15 traits: C10:0, C14:0, C18:0, C18:1n-7, C18:1n-9, C18:2n-6, C20:0, C20:2, C20:3n-6, C20:4n-6, C20:5n-3, C24:0, C24:1n-9, monounsaturated (MUFA) polyunsaturated (PUFA). These mostly located chromosome around following genes: ACSS3, BTG1, MCEE, PPARGC1A, ACSL4, ELOVL4, CYB5R4, ME1, and TRPM1. Both oleic arachidonic contained MCEE TRPM1. two antagonistic each other identified as traits that contribute production acids. results improve our understanding genetic mechanisms through which affect flavor.

Genome-wide association study of meat quality traits in chicken.

Meat quality traits are very important in the poultry industry. To identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and candidate genes affecting meat quality traits, a genome-wide association study was performed using the Illumina chicken 60K SNP beadchip in Jinghai yellow chicken. Four meat quality traits were measured. Two SNPs reached 5% Bonferroni genome-wide significance (P < 1.8E-6) and 7...

Genome-Wide Association Study of Body Weight in Chicken F2 Resource Population

Chicken body weight is an economically important trait and great genetic progress has been accomplished in genetic selective for body weight. To identify genes and chromosome regions associated with body weight, we performed a genome-wide association study using the chicken 60 k SNP panel in a chicken F2 resource population derived from the cross between Silky Fowl and White Plymouth Rock. A to...

Genome-wide association study for intramuscular fatty acid composition in an Iberian × Landrace cross.

The lipid content and fatty acid (FA) profile have an important impact in human health as well as in the technological transformation and nutritional and organoleptic quality of meat. A genome-wide association study (GWAS) on 144 backcross pigs (25% Iberian × 75% Landrace) was performed for 32 traits associated with intramuscular FA composition and indices of FA metabolism. The GWAS was carried...

Unveiling the genetic loci for a panicle developmental trait using genome-wide association study in rice

Panicle size has a high correlation with grain yield in rice. There is a bottleneck to identify the additional quantitative trait loci (QTL) for panicle size due to the conventional traits used for QTL mapping. To identify more genetic loci for panicle size, a panicle developmental trait (LNTB, the length from panicle neck-knot to the first primary branch in the rachis) related to panicle size ...
